How to allow access or reset permissions when using the Chrome browser

To have a doxy.me call, you need to give your browser permission to access your webcam and microphone.

When Using a Desktop or Laptop

How to Allow Camera and Microphone in the Browser

  1. While on Doxy.me, select the lock icon located near the left side of your search bar.

    1. NOTE: With Chrome 117, this icon was updated to the TUNE icon

  2. When the menu appears look for camera, mic and sound options.

  3. Make sure the toggle is blue for camera and microphone, this will ALLOW access to those devices.

You can also test your device here to ensure everything is working correctly.

How to Reset Chrome Permissions for Cam and Mic

  1. From your Doxy Dashboard or the waiting room, click the lock icon in search bar.

  2. Select Reset Permissions option


3. All toggles will turn to off, then simply set them back to Blue to be on.

4. When prompted by the browser, be sure to Allow the Cam and Mic.

(iPhone, iPad, Android Phone/Tablet)

Allowing Access to Camera or Mic

When you enter a waiting room or log in to your Dashboard, you will be prompted to enable your camera and microphone for use during a call. Please be sure to select Allow.

How to Reset Permissions to a Blocked Camera or Mic on Mobile

  1. Click the Lock icon to open the settings. 

  2. Select Permissions

  3. Select Reset Permissions

Be sure to select Allow when prompted to enable camera and microphone

For Android: If this does not resolve the issue, try following these steps to make sure permissions are allowed in the Android Permission Manager
