Video definition levels explained

Your video quality will automatically move between the following definition levels, depending on your doxy.me plan.

Low Definition (LD) - Available on all plans

Provides a reasonably clear picture, requires less bandwidth, and increases the chances of a stable call

💡 Recommended use case: A weekly telehealth check-in where close up details of your patient are not required or when internet stability is a concern

Standard Definition (SD) - Available on paid plans

Provides a clearer picture, but requires more bandwidth and computer power than low definition

💡 Recommended use case: A patient consultation where observing quick facial expressions or physical features is needed

High Definition (HD) - Available on paid plans

Provides the clearest picture, but requires the most bandwidth and computer power

💡 Recommended use case: An appointment where fine details are essential for accurate assessment such as dermatology, wound care, or identifying non-verbal cues
