Turn on live captions with Chrome

Use Chrome to display an onscreen text transcription as a person speaks

Updated this week

You can enable closed captions in doxy.me when using a Chrome Browser (Safari, Edge, and Firefox do not support this currently).

NOTE: These instructions only work in MacOS and Windows.

How to Add Live Captions to Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three dots icon () in the top right corner.

  2. Select Settings in the Update menu. This will open the Settings page.

  3. In the left sidebar of the Settings page, select the Accessibility option.

  4. Enable the toggle switch for Live Caption. Chrome will then download the Live Caption code and install it in your browser.

When you begin your next doxy.me call, the Closed Caption popup will appear. Select and drag the popup to another area if it's blocking any buttons.
