NOTE: Virtual background is only available on Professional, Clinic, and Enterprise accounts.
IMPORTANT: Virtual background is currently only available on desktop/laptop devices with Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge). It is not available when you (the provider) are using a phone or tablet. Nor is it available if you are using Firefox or Safari as your browser.
Using a virtual background or blurring your actual background can limit unnecessary distractions for your patient during the call.

If you notice bugs or imperfections, please share that information with us by emailing support@doxy.me with "Virtual background issue" as the subject.
Most blurred or virtual background effects use additional CPU processing power and/or additional RAM from your computer. In addition to potentially impacting the strength of your call, these added strains on your computer could cause your computer's cooling fan to run throughout a call.
Our minimum suggested device specs for using virtual backgrounds is as followed:
CPU — Intel Core i5 (with 4 cores or higher) or Apple Silicon M1 (or higher)
8G RAM (or more)
Dedicated GPU (for example, NVIDIA)
