Every month providers around the world send over 1.5 million text message invites to their patients. Most patients prefer text invites over email and calendar invites. For this reason, we have worked hard to design a text invite experience that is simple, secure, and convenient for providers.

Send a text message invite

To send an invite, use the Invite Via button on the Dashboard, then select Text message.

Once open, enter the patient's phone number and click send. You may also choose to edit the message before sending. Just remember not to include protected health information (PHI) in the message.

Choose your patient's language

You can send patient invites in 18 different languages using the language selector (shown above as English). Choosing a different language will change the invitation message to a translated version of doxy.me's default message. To be clear, if you have already edited the message, selecting a different language will not translate your customized message.

It will remember your selected language until you choose to change it to another language. In addition, it will list the three previously selected languages at the top of the list for easy access.

Edit your invitation

You can change the message of the invitation to personalize it to your needs. Any changes made will be cleared after the invite is sent.

Messages must contain less than 160 characters; that includes spaces and your room link. We have found that being brief helps keep things simple for patients.

New version of text invite

Doxy.me works hard to design features that meet the needs of our customers. Recently, we have designed a new version of text invites that offers the ability to easily insert date and time details into the text message invite, amongst other improvements.

Based on testing, we have decided to release this new version to providers with a Professional subscription. Providers with a Clinic subscription will continue to have the current version.

You're welcome to learn more about the new version of text invites. If your clinic would like to switch to the new version, please contact us at cullen.kavanagh@doxy.me.
